Open year-round, the facility has English, Western and jumping classes that put focus on good horsemanship. The county also has indoor-focused classes for kids, like at Family Karate in Mentor. Family Karate offers classes for the whole family, beginning with preschool aged children. The classes for kids focus on balance, coordination, fitness, memory, teamwork and general skills in order to prepare them for future martial arts.
Rich Lanes in Fairport Harbor offers eight lanes and features bumper bowling for younger kids, along with a grill featuring family favorites like hamburgers and pizza. Rich Lanes also has a youth program during the fall season on Saturdays. Chip’s Clubhouse in Chardon provides kids and adults with 18 holes of miniature golf on a course with obstacles and waterfalls. Kids can also enjoy the ice cream bar with flavors like green mint chip and cookie dough.
At Pioneer Waterland & Dry Fun Park, located in Chardon, the whole family can enjoy six-story-high water slides, a lazy river inner tube ride and a swimming pool with slides designed after animals. There are paddle boats for families to take out on the lake and an area just for toddlers with a tunnel and playhouse. At Lake County Speedway in Painesville, families can take advantage of discount kids tickets and watch some of the car races. The speedway also offers a chance for kids and adults to drive go-karts on the track with provided safety gear.
