Theater for Kids in Gilbert, Arizona

The town of Gilbert, Arizona, prides itself on small-town charm with big city attractions. Located in the southeast corner of the Phoenix metropolitan area, it has many cultural amenities. Finding an ideal theater company is important for aspiring young performers, and this rapidly growing town in the desert provides some excellent options.

Studio 3

Studio 3 is a performing arts studio providing a number of opportunities for kids interested in theater. Kids as young as 4 and as old as 18 can audition for a variety of parts and productions. Many of the shows are familiar children's stories such as "Charlie Brown" and "The Little Mermaid." The studio also offers dance classes in several styles, including hip-hop, ballet, jazz, tap, tumbling and contemporary. For the kids who are ready to advance into a more competitive realm, Studio 3 also facilitates various companies in dance, parade and theater.

SAS Dance Studio

If you are looking for a place that focuses primarily on dance theater, SAS Dance Studio is an excellent choice. It has a precision dance line team that performs at many venues throughout the year. The program is open to 4- to 16-year-olds and aimed to build skills, teamwork and discipline. It also has a Boyz Crew dance team that incorporates hip-hop, break dancing and freestyle tricks. Kids can take a variety of beginner classes in ballet, tap, jazz and contemporary performing in a yearly recital.

Wagner Dance and Music

Wagner Dance and Music is a performing arts school with state-of-the-art facilities, including floating dance floors and high-quality sound systems. Kids can begin attending classes at the age of 2 with a variety of stylistic options. The performances are age-appropriate in choreography and costume, creating a family-friendly atmosphere. Music classes are available in piano, voice and guitar. Kids at age 5 can begin taking private lessons, learning a variety of musical styles including jazz, rock and pop.

Baker School of Music

At the Baker School of Music your child can enroll in all kinds of programs in drama, music and dance. For 5- to 13-year-olds there is a Broadway class that involves improv, singing, dancing and acting instruction. Every three months, the students will perform on stage in a musical production. You can also sign your kids up for private music lessons in guitar, piano, drums and voice. Band and orchestra classes are also available.
