If you are trying to find a telephone number and address for a person or a place of business, you have many free Internet services at your disposal to help you in locating that person or place of business.

Go to the white pages of the phone book. If you want to find the telephone number and address for a person, look in the white pages of the phone book. The phone book lists last names in alphabetical order. Find the person's last name in the phone book. Look through the list of the people with the same last name to find a first name that matches the name of the person you are looking for. The person's phone number and address should be listed beside the person's name.

Go to the yellow pages of the phone book. If you want to find the telephone number and address for a place of business, the business may be listed in the yellow pages. The phone book lists the names of businesses by category. For example, if you are looking for a theater, you look under the heading "theater" and find the name of the theater listed in alphabetical order. The number and address for the business should be listed beside the name.

Visit the Official White Pages website. This website acts as an online version of the phone book; however, the Official White Pages does not restrict your search to a specific city or town. Conduct the search by typing the name of the person or place of business you are looking for into the form. The results should show the telephone number and address for that person or place of business.

Do a general Internet search using an Internet search engine. Type the name of the person or place of business into a search engine. You will probably have more luck searching for a place of business by using a search engine than a person.

Ask your friends. The people you know may have some information that you do not have.
