Summer Pre-K Programs in Rancho Bernardo, California

by Amy Sutton

Parents send their children to Pre-K for a variety of reasons. A preschool program gives little ones an opportunity to improve social skills, as well as language and cognitive development. Parents of preschoolers in Rancho Bernardo, a community in San Diego, have a wide variety of summer Pre-K programs to choose from, whether they're looking for a traditional preschool or a Pre-K summer camp.

San Diego Preschools

Westwood Club Preschool is located in the Rancho Bernardo community and offers preschool summer camps during the summer for kids 3 to 5. Camp themes include Under the Sea, All About Art, Kids Cuisine, Amazing Artists and Enchanted Kingdom. Marantha Christian Schools, 4 minutes away in San Diego, offers a preschool summer program that runs for two, two-week sessions, with different themes for each session. At Kids' Care Club, 8 minutes away in San Diego, parents can take their preschoolers for the 3- to 4- year olds or Pre-Kindergarten program, where they will learn about creative art, science, math and music, and get to participate in an assortment of hands-on activities.

Escondido Preschools

Escondido is just a 10 minute drive away and is home to preschools like the Tiny Tots Preschool, ran by the Escondido Recreation Department. This program puts children in a classroom environment and surrounds them with warm and positive energy to enhance their growth with self-confidence, independence and responsibility. Felicita Montessori School is for children 2 years old through kindergarten age and teaches children practical life skills, as well as an introductory to math, language and cultural studies.

Poway Preschools

The Montessori Child Development Center is just 10 minutes away in Poway and has a super summer camp for preschoolers. Children 3 to 7 years old can participate and will get to do activities such as journaling, storytelling, arts and crafts and swimming. At the Elm Park Preschool, located at the Resurrection Community Church, you'll find a low student-teacher ratio, which creates a better learning environment for young children. Preschoolers are taught about phonics, spelling, reading and introductory math.

Additional Summer Preschool Programs

The San Diego Public Library, Rancho Bernardo branch, offers a summer reading program for kids of all ages. Children 3 to 11 listen to their parents reading to them and earn prizes for books read. In addition, there's weekly programs with stories, entertainment and music. At the Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church, your preschool can attend the Rockin' Summer VBS to enjoy music, dancing, sports, water games and bible lessons. Alternatively, your children can attend the Summer Day Camp VBS at Life Christian Church, 20 minutes away in Vista. Preschoolers will play games, make crafts, have snacks and listen to bible lessons. Escondido Christian School also offers a summer program for preschoolers, called Mini Camp for Mini Kids, with weekly themes such as Wild Wild West, Adventures in Space and Tropical Island Paradise.
