Places to Have Parties for Kids in Vancouver, Washington

by Ann Daniels

Vancouver is home to action-packed venues to keep your child's party guests entertained or relaxing park settings for an outdoor celebration. Many locations offer party packages to help you plan a birthday party for your child that he will remember for years.

Bowling

Host your child’s event at a bowling alley in Vancouver. In addition to bowling, Husted's Hazel Dell Lanes allows party guests to partake in snacks and soda from the restaurant. The venue hosts special events, so call ahead to plan your child’s party. Big Al’s bowling alley has birthday party packages. Choose from party packages that include bowling, food, soda, cupcakes and invitations. Big Al’s can also do the decorating for you with your choice of theme. Add-ons such as arcade games and additional food are available for an additional charge.

Family Fun

Plan a birthday party that keeps the guests active. Golden Skate is Vancouver’s roller skating rink and provides all the necessities for a birthday party. The party packages include admission, soda, candy and paper goods to serve food and cake. Another option for your party guests is laser tag, which can be the party’s main attraction or can be included as part of a skating package. Source Climbing Center provides an activity to entertain all ages. Kids can climb more than 50 routes on walls that reach up to 36 feet. The venue offers party packages that include two hours of activities and a table with six chairs. You can bring your own food and drinks for guests. Climbing shoes are not included in the party package price, but can be rented on the day of the party.

Community Center

Vancouver is home to community centers that make excellent party venues. The Marshall Community Center provides entertainment choices for your child’s celebration such as renting a party room, video games or a DJ dance party. The center staff will handle the activities and the cleanup. The Firstenburg Community Center also provides party options such as a swim party or a video game party. The swim party also includes a party rental room for 1 1/2 hours.

Parks

Vancouver parks provide activities and amenities to host children’s birthday parties. Pack a picnic and enjoy the outdoors for your celebration. Esther Short Park has picnic areas, open lawn space and a playground. If your party takes place in the summer, free movies and concerts are scheduled for your guests to enjoy. Reserve your space with Vancouver’s parks and recreation department. David Douglas Community Park is another park choice for your child’s birthday party. The park offers ball fields, picnic tables, a picnic shelter and playground equipment.
