Party Places for Teens Close to Glenwood, Illinois

by Debbie Dragon

When you live in a small, quiet town like Glenwood, Illinois, you probably expect to travel outside of the area in search of the best party places for teens. There are a number of party venues ideal for teenagers located a just short drive away from Glenwood.

Outdoor Attractions

Zig-E’s Funland, located in Saint John, Indiana, is less than 12 miles from Glenwood, Illinois. Zig-E’s offers party packages for up to 30 guests. You can choose from the indoor party room or the outdoor pavilion. Zig-E's offers a variety of party packages based on number of guests, type of food you want and which activities to include for each guest. You can select park attractions like go-karts, bungee trampoline and miniature golf, as well as redemption tickets for the arcade games. Deep River Water Park is also located in northwest Indiana and offers party packages for teenagers. Parties include an adult chaperone, a reserved party table for the entire day, admission to the waterpark, free ice cream and a choice of pizza or hot dogs for party guests.

Indoor Attractions

Have your teen's birthday party at Glenwood Roller Rink and enjoy two or three hours of skating, pizza or hot dogs and soft drinks. Parties must have a minimum of 10 skaters and range in price depending on how many hours you want to skate and which extra options you decide to include. Lan Oak Lanes in Lansing is less than 5 miles from Glenwood and offers a two-hour bowling birthday package for teenagers. Each party guest will bowl for over an hour, followed by the use of a private room for pizza or hot dogs. Bowling balls and shoe rentals are included for party guests. You can take your own cake and ice cream.

Have a Picnic Party

If your teen's birthday is between Memorial Day and Labor Day, consider reserving a picnic area at Wicker Memorial Park in Highland, Indiana. The park is about 17 minutes from Glenwood. Each picnic area has five picnic tables and a grill for your use; or for large parties up to 400 people, you can rent the pavilion. Take your own food and beverages, and then enjoy all of the park amenities, including a splash pad, volleyball and tennis courts, and walking and biking trails.

Educational Party

For younger teenagers or those interested in science, plan a party at the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago, located within a 30-minute drive from Glenwood. The museum offers use of a private party room for three hours. Party packages include all-day admission for 15 guests and a choice from the party menu, which includes hot dogs, hamburger, nachos and subs. Additional guests are welcome for a fee.
