List of the Top Online Schools for Health Care Degrees

Online learning is a popular choice for healthcare professionals looking to expand their careers, and also for other professionals hoping to start careers in the healthcare industry. Students attending online schools are able to do so while maintaining full-time employment, thanks to the flexible nature of distance learning. There are many types of healthcare degrees available online. No single online healthcare school stands above the others, as different schools specialize in different online healthcare degrees.

Ohio University

Ohio University, a consistently high-ranked school with "U.S. News & World Report," offers a master’s in health administration that can be completed 100 percent online. This program is designed for current health care professionals who wish to expand their knowledge of such subjects as organizational principals, finance, group dynamics, and managed care contracts. Classes can be taken according to the student’s schedule; therefore, professionals can continue working their full-time jobs while pursuing this degree.

Ferris State University

Ferris State University offers a highly ranked, online graduate nursing program through its College of Health Professions. The program, accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, is designed to prepare current registered nurses for one of three specialized leadership roles: nursing informatics, nursing education, and nursing administration. Students develop their own health education programs according to the guiding principles and concepts used throughout the professional health care world. Approved by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, this program will teach students the fundamentals behind grant writing, community organizing, resource evaluations, and social marketing.
