Whether you're touring the historical city of Fort Pierce, enjoying the city life of Port St. Lucie or looking for fun in the sun, you'll find lots to do to keep the kids busy and happy in St. Lucie County.

Kayaks and Stuff is a kayak rental and guided tour company that serves the St. Lucie area. It offers tours that last from a few hours to all day long that are a great opportunity for the kids to see wildlife and explore the waterways. For a less strenuous option, especially for younger kids, Motorized Kayak Adventures is an option. Or, there's Jensen Beach Boat Rentals, which provides motorboats for water skiing, wake boarding, tubing, fishing and cruising. They carry all the necessary equipment, making things easy for recreation on the water.

Indoor Fun

Super Play USA is a family fun center in the city of Port St. Lucie. Here, the kids can bowl with cosmic lighting, feel what it's like on a motor speedway in the race simulator, putt around on the mini golf course, swing at a few ball in the batting cages, play laser tag and try out the redemption arcade games. Another indoor option in Port St. Lucie is Minsky Gym. It offers a wide range of activities including open gym times for kids, Pee Wee basketball and soccer, Tuesday Toddler Time, Parent-Tot Time, as well as pizza jams and racquetball tournaments.

The St. Lucie area features over 21 miles along the ocean shoreline providing access to numerous waterfront activities. Waveland Beach is the southernmost beach area complete with sand, lifeguards and swimming access. A bike trail begins here as well for kids who want to bike along the coast. Fredrick Douglas Memorial Park in Fort Pierce offers beach access for swimming and fishing. It has picnic pavilions available for a meal out on the beach. Pepper Park Beachside, also in Fort Pierce, is a 52-acre park with playgrounds, sports courts, shallow waters for swimming and hiking trails.

The Oxbow Eco Center is a 225-acre wildlife preserve along the St. Lucie River. Kids will likely enjoy exploring this completely natural environment with lush gardens and plenty of wildlife to view. In addition to offering guided tours, the center also has an exhibit hall with animal replicas and educational displays. The Fort Pierce Inlet State Park is another outdoor option that provides a wide array of activities for kids. Here, they can snorkel and swim, hike to the observation tower for a birds-eye view of the area, or go fishing along the inlet.
