Having a job with travel benefits will break up the monotony of your everyday work. From earning travel pay to free flights, there are plenty of jobs available that offer travel benefits. Imagine being paid to see the world.
Military service is a great way to see the world while serving your country. The amount of traveling you will do in the military will be based on your occupation and the branch of service you select. The United States has military bases across the globe, so you could end up just about anywhere and earn travel pay in the process. It's not a far-fetched idea to want to live or travel to Japan or Germany and this could very well happen if you are in the military. Salaries vary for members of the military, which takes into consideration the governmental pay grid and the rank you earn as well as the location at where you are based.
Cruise Ship Director
Cruise ship directors are responsible for several jobs while on the ship, from arranging entertainment acts to coordinating passenger itineraries. Cruise directors are also considered officers on the ship. Your daily work will be done while floating across the open seas and traveling to other countries. Not many people can complain about having to see dolphins or whales as part of their routine. To get a position as a cruise ship director there is no formal education, but it is advised you start working for a cruise line at the bottom and work your way to the top. Cruise International, the industry's employment website, reports a cruise director can earn a salary between $4,500 and $7,500 a month.
Airline pilots log many hours traversing the country to deliver people or packages to their destinations. While stays are normally only a few hours or overnight, think of the cultural experiences you could have. If you choose to fly international flights you could see the world. If you opt for domestic service there are 50 states and plenty of sites to see. Another benefit of working for an airline is flying for free during your off hours, with family discounts. Training for pilots is required and must be completed by receiving instruction at a flight school or from a certified Federal Aviation Administration instructor. Individuals who have served as pilots in the U.S. military are also considered qualified pilots. Pilots might also be required to pass certain tests required by the airline. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports the average commercial pilot's salary to be $67,500.
Travel writers not only get to see the world, but get paid for writing about their experiences. If you can craft a story describing your experiences, from hotels to sight-seeing adventures and food, look into travel writing. This job could take to you anywhere depending on the publication you write for. If you decide to write freelance, you can choose where you want to go and what you write about. Imagine watching the bulls run in Spain or climbing the Eiffel Tower in Paris and collecting a paycheck to tell people about it. Being a writer does not require a formal education but you will need to know the basics of the craft. The salary range varies depending on the career path you choose (freelance or assignment), the publication you work for and how much you work.
