Vinyl letters are used for everything from sailboats and cars to signs and T-shirts. While they may seem permanent, they are not difficult to remove from your clothes. Sometimes you get a great T-shirt in a color you love, but there’s a business logo on the back that you just don’t want. Removing the vinyl lettering is time-consuming, but not complicated.

Wash and dry the garment according to the care instructions.

Using a heat gun or hairdryer on high, heat the letters for a few minutes. The letters will become hot to the touch

Lift up the edge of the first letter and begin peeling it back. If you can’t get a fingernail under the letter, use a razor blade to lift up the edge.

Continue peeling the letters like this, slowly, and heating with the hairdryer or heat gun the entire time. Old letters may crack and break more than new letters. You must be patient

Soak any left-over glue in rubbing alcohol and scrub it off with a clean, dry, towel.

Wash the garment one more time and wear it, logo free.
