How to Make Face Cream Using Kombucha Cultures

Kombucha is a colony of yeast and bacteria commonly used to make a fizzy, carbonated tea. Once known primarily to the alternative health community, kombucha tea is now available in bottles in health food stores and even some grocery stores. According to HappyHerbalist.com, kombucha cultures are useful for a variety of health and beauty recipes, including acne and sore throat treatment, bath soaks for arthritis and face cream. You can make your own one-time kombucha dry skin treatment at home.

Items you will need

  • Kombucha tea
  • Honey
  • Egg
  • Bowl
  • Eggbeater
  • Tablespoon
  • Sponge or washcloth
Step 1

Break an egg on the side of a bowl and separate the egg white from the yolk by gently pouring the yolk back and forth between shell halves. Allow the white to run into the bowl and throw the yolk away.

Step 2

Beat the egg white with an eggbeater until it becomes frothy. This will take approximately two minutes.

Step 3

Add 1 tbsp. of honey and 1 tbsp. of plain kombucha tea.

Step 4

Stir the ingredients until they are creamy and apply the mixture to your face.

Step 5

Leave the kombucha moisturizer on your face until it dries, then wash it off with cool water and a clean sponge or washcloth.
