Gifts for Teen Girls Based on Personality

by Rosenya Faith, studioD

When you use your teenage girl's personality and interests as a guide, you'll find a perfect gift for her in no time. Whether she's a sports fanatic or a drama queen, her birthday is the perfect time to show your teen you recognize her wonderful personality.

Creative Thinker

If your teen has an incredible imagination and a passion for art, music or theater, help her explore her creative side. You can present her with a new easel and paint set or encourage her to explore her love of music with a new instrument. If she's already hooked on the guitar or piano -- or even her own vocal cords -- help her improve her technique with private music lessons. If she has a type of art she'd like to explore, such as photography or graphics design, enroll her in a local course or workshop. You can sign her up for theater camp or pick her up a new camera. If she loves to draw, invest in a graphics tablet and stylus so she can doodle directly onto her computer or laptop.

Fashionista or Beauty Queen

The fashionista is busy keeping up with the latest trends so help her unwind from all her beauty and fashion endeavors with a day at the spa. You can arrange for a full afternoon of pampering, with a massage, facial, body treatment and makeover, or scale down the services and treat the two of you to manicures and pedicures instead. Help her keep her beauty necessities organized with a new makeup case, or encourage her to pursue her passion with books about makeup artistry or fashion design. She'll stay the trendiest gal in school with a new purse, or sparkle even more with a glittering gemstone phone case. If you're on a tight budget, make a purse at home from a place mat folded in half, a beaded strand strap and silk flower embellishments, or pick up an ordinary phone case and decorate it with imitation gemstones and rhinestones.

Athletic Gal

Pick up a new workout suit for a young yoga enthusiast or a new set of quality running shoes if she's the kind of gal who can't miss her Saturday morning run. An armband cell phone holder will help her stay in touch with friends when she's out for a bike ride and a personalized water bottle will keep her hydrated in style. You can have a tennis racket carrying case customized with her name or favorite decals, or customize a tote bag or sports bag instead to help her carry her gear to practice. If she is a fan of a particular sports team, get her tickets to an upcoming game or search for autographed memorabilia she can show off to all her friends.

Courageous Adventurer

If your teen gal likes to walk on the wild side, surprise her with the perfect gift for a young daredevil. You can send her on a zip-line adventure 40 to 100 feet above the ground at speeds up to 40 mph or have her get behind the wheel for a stunt driving experience. Let her feel like an aerial acrobat during a hands-on trapeze lesson or soar through the skies on a hang gliding adventure. She can brave the wilderness on a survival adventure, learn how to scuba dive or take her first flight lesson in a light aircraft or helicopter. If she gets her adventurous spirit from you, make the gift an experience for two, with a tandem skydiving or paragliding adventure, a white-water rafting trip, or take the plunge with her on a tandem bungee jump.
