Mesa, Arizona is rife with fun and exciting things to do for kids and families. When it comes to throwing a child's birthday party, there is no shortage of venues. Many offer packages designed specifically for kids' birthday parties. Parents should have no trouble fulfilling their kids' birthday party wishes in this Arizona city.

Amusement Parks

A party held at an amusement park is ideal for an adventurous birthday child. Mesa is home to amusement parks like Amazing Jake's, Jambo Park, Golfland and Sunsplash. Even the basic birthday party package at Amazing Jake's offers revelers some serious fun with unlimited all-day access to kiddie amusement rides and a voucher for 200 redemption tickets at the Amazing Prize Counter. Additional amenities are available with upgraded packages. The all-indoor Jambo Park has seven rides, a huge soft-play playground and age-appropriate video games. Party packages include unlimited all-day access to all the rides and the playground and can include food, drinks and dessert depending on the chosen package. Golfland and Sunsplash are two neighboring amusement parks that offer kids endless fun. Golfland features a 200-game arcade, three 18-hole miniature golf courses, laser tag, Fastcar Raceway and water slides. Sunsplash offers huge waterslides for big kids, a lazy river, a 450,000-gallon wave pool and a toddler pool for kids under age 7.

Museums aren't stuffy places where kids must keep their hands to themselves anymore! Mesa boasts kid-friendly museums that host fun birthday parties as well. At the Arizona Museum for Youth, kids and adults alike can create art of their own while exploring educational exhibits. Museum birthday party packages include museum admission, 90 minutes in a private party room, a museum activity led by museum staff and more. Kids love dinosaurs, but there is so much more than fossils to explore at the Arizona Museum of Natural History, like current exhibitions such as "The Return to the Sea of Cortez" and "The Hubble Space Telescope: New Views of the Universe." Birthday party guests can enjoy entry to the museum, over an hour in the private Exploration Station and an age-appropriate craft to take home.

Active Activities

If your child is active, plan a birthday party where they can move and groove. At Stratum Laser Tag, birthday party packages offer kids two games of laser tag, a private party room with host, pizza, cake, arcade tokens and more. Bowling is another fun birthday party idea and Mesa has no shortage of bowling alleys. Let the kids knock down pins and party with their friends at lanes like AMF Mesa Lanes and Brunswick Zone Mesa, which offer birthday party packages.

Park It

There is something quintessential about holding a kid's birthday party at a city park, where you can create your own party fun. Mesa is home to nearly 60 traditional outdoor parks as well as four recreation centers, 10 city sports facilities and nine public pools. Select a location, reserve a ramada and plan a birthday of your child's dreams where he and his party guests can play for hours on the equipment, get sporty or even swim.
