Birthday Party Places for Kids in St. Louis, Missouri

From the iconic Gateway Arch to its vibrant blues music scene, the city of St. Louis, Missouri, is a cultural gem in the Midwest. The city doesn't disappoint when it comes to attractions and activities for children either, as it includes several kid-friendly museums, a world-class zoo and a plethora of children's entertainment centers. If you are planning your child's next birthday in St. Louis, many of the children's venues offer a variety of birthday party packages from which to choose.


The Magic House Children's Museum is an interactive museum where kids can use their imaginations while learning through play. Highlights include the Lewis and Clark Adventures exhibit, where kids follow the trail of the famous explorers, a three-story beanstalk climbing apparatus and a whimsical outdoor play garden with discoveries around every corner. Magic House offers several themed birthday party packages based on your child's interests and includes admission, cupcakes, juice and paper goods. Older kids will have a blast at the St. Louis Science Center, which features over 700 interactive exhibits spanning all areas of science. The museum includes a life science lab with a giant fish aquarium, Cyberville, a state-of-the-art, science-based computer lab, a planetarium and an IMAX theater. You can choose from several science-themed birthday packages where the kids will engage in some sort of science experiment or activity. It also includes birthday cake, pizza, juice and paper goods.

Animal Encounters

For kids wild about animals, you can celebrate at the St. Louis Zoo, home to more than 19,000 animals from across the world. This includes African safari animals like lions, zebras and giraffes, Australian kangaroos and wallabies and Asian elephants and pandas. The zoo offers different animal adventure birthday party packages, including Aquatic Adventure and Wildlife Wonders. Each package has different activities, such as feeding stingrays or petting a baby wild animal. All packages include a party room, individual birthday cakes, animal-related activities and a gift for the birthday child. You can also take your child to Grant's Farm, home to the famous Budweiser Clydesdale horses. The farm features over 900 wild, farm and domesticated animals. Highlights of Grant's Farm include animal shows, hand-feeding and petting animals such as kangaroos and goats and seeing the Clydesdale horses up close. Birthday party packages include birthday cake and ice cream, tickets to various activities and children's meals.

Family Entertainment Centers

Kids can enjoy a variety of activities at Swing-A-Round Fun Town. Choose from attractions such as go-karts, bumper boats, miniature golf, batting cages, bowling, an arcade and a soft play area. It offers three party packages, all of which include pizza, fountain drinks and tickets to some or all of the attractions. Additional options include cupcakes, ice cream, art projects, balloons and goody bags. Another family entertainment center to check out is the Incredible Pizza Company. Attractions include laser tag, bumper cars, go-karts, glow-in-the-dark golf, mini-bowling and a gigantic play area, including a separate kiddie play area. It has several party rooms and birthday packages from which to choose. These packages include pizza, drinks, invitations, a special birthday song, arcade game gift cards, balloons and a prize wheel spin for the birthday child.

Other Saint Louis Locations

The Missouri Botanical Gardens is more than just a beautiful garden. The 79-acre oasis is home to a one-of-a-kind greenhouse dome, Climatron, and features horticulture programs for kids and adults. The Doris I. Schuck Children's Garden spotlights interactive natural features and play structures for children to enjoy, including a limestone cave, a steamboat, a tree house and a prairie village. You can celebrate your child's birthday inside the Town Hall in the Children's Garden. The party package includes a personalized birthday banner, a T-shirt for the birthday child and optional extras such as a visit from the garden's frog mascot, Finn. For the baseball fanatic kid, celebrate his birthday a River City Rascals game, Saint Louis' minor league baseball team. The Rascals offer children's birthday packages that include tickets to the game, concession stand food, birthday cake, an announcement on the scoreboard and a visit from the mascot, Ruffy.
