Birthday Party Locations for Teens in Philadelphia

by Sarah Bourque

Your teen may become more particular about birthday plans as she gets older. Finding the perfect location for the important birthday party is worry-free in Philadelphia -- a busy, historical city with many hot spots and hidden gems. Whether your special teen wants to swim, bowl, skate or dine, Philadelphia has the perfect location available.

Restaurant Gathering

Sometimes teens choose an intimate gathering in a restaurant rather than a huge party. Fountain Restaurant is the place to go for fine dining in Philadelphia. The acclaimed American with French influence cuisine and stunning elegance make this the perfect place for a special teen party. The private Logan Room is available for parties up to 14. Bridget Foy’s offers classy and fun atmosphere and tasty contemporary fare. Two private rooms are available for your teenager's gathering. Rooms include many personal extras to help make your event special including state of the art sound systems, flat screen TVs, karaoke machines and custom menus. Chart House Restaurant sits on the beautiful Delaware River. Since 1986, guests have enjoyed the tasty seafood and American classic dishes. You can reserve the entire restaurant for your special party kid, which holds 400 guests, or enjoy a private or semi-private room for a smaller party.

Water Activities

Entertainment Cruises offers 2 vessels, Spirit of Philadelphia and Freedom Elite. Teens are the party stars on these gorgeous, multilevel cruise ships with views of the sparkling Delaware River. Private birthday party and Sweet Sixteen packages are available with options like customized menus, an interactive DJ, and personalized decorations. The Salvation Army Kroc Center features an indoor water park with indoor lap pools, a hot tub, a spray ground play area and a lazy river. You can rent the private party room inside of the water park for groups up to 30. Party packages include food, plus use of the party room and water park. The City of Philadelphia maintains more than 70 outdoor swimming pools. Spend a teen summer birthday splashing away at the pool, then have a barbecue at a nearby park.

Bowling

Bowling alleys can be safe and fun venues for a youth party. North Bowl opened in July 2006. This former mechanics' garage has a retro feel with modern amenities. The 21,000-square-foot facility features dining, several lanes, a pool table and arcade games. Customizable party packages are available. Pep Bowl is a clean, updated facility with an electronic scoring system and comfortable seating. You can rent a couple lanes or the whole facility for your teenager's party. Party packages can include use of the sound systems, refreshments from the snack bar and shoe rental. Lucky Strike Philadelphia is a swank facility located inside Penn Center, featuring 24 lanes, six billiard tables, food and valet service. The planning department at Lucky Strike will work with you to customize your teen's dream birthday bash.

Skating

Skating parties allow your teen to have an active good time with friends. Rolling Thunder Skating has a top-notch roller skating rink, games with ticket redemption, and music and lights. Many party packages and options are available for any budget. Flyers Skate Zone offers a smooth ice skating rink, video games and food. You can rent the entire facility or private party rooms for your special kiddo. Palace Roller Skating Center has a sound system, light shows and a huge plastic-coated, maple wood skate floor. Party packages include admission, skate rental, refreshments and a party host.
