5 Gorgeous Beauty Looks Using Only 5 Products

by Megan Beauchamp

Overview

Between the annual office holiday party, the obligatory family get togethers and the laid-back white elephant bash with friends, there are no shortage of parties to attend during the holiday season. So, we asked talented makeup artist Mynxii White to create five pretty party looks using just five affordable products. From an on-trend plum lip to an unexpected blue smokey eye, there's a look for every holiday occasion.

Our 5 Products

To create all five looks Mynxii used Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara in Blackest Black, $6.40, Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in Nude Beige, $7.99, Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick in Poisonberry, $18.00, L'Oreal Lineur Intense Liquid Eye Liner in Carbon Black, $8.99, and Lime Crime Fantasy Palette in Alchemy, $35.00.

Light Eye + Bold Plum Lip

Our first look is a bold plum lip paired with a neutral, shimmery eye.

Prep Skin

Cover up blemishes and even out your skin tone with foundation.

Gold Eye shadow

Apply the gold eye shadow from the palette all over your eyelids, starting at the lash line and blending upward into the crease and toward brow bone. The shadow should be darkest at the lash line and fade as you blend upward.

Mascara

To keep the eye light, apply just one coat of mascara to your upper lashes.

Define Your Cheeks

Use a blush brush to apply a small amount of the purple eye shadow from the palette to the apples of your cheeks and along your cheekbones.

Plum Lip

To create the bold lip, apply the lipstick straight from the tube. Layer the color until you achieve a deep plum shade.

Light Eye + Bold Plum Lip

Can you believe you only need four products to create this classic yet glam party look?

Dark Eye + Light Lip

Play up your eyes with an icy-blue smokey eye.

Prep Skin

Apply foundation and concealer to create a base for the look.

Smokey Blue Shadow

Use an angled brush to apply the blue shadow from the palette to both your upper and lower lash lines. Layer the gold shadow over the blue shadow on your upper eyelid and blend into the crease with an eye shadow brush. The gold diffuses the blue and softens the eye.

Touch Up

Blend the blue shadow at your lower lash line with foundation using a concealer brush.

Mascara

To further define the eyes, apply a coat of mascara to both your upper and lower lashes.

Flushed Cheeks

Use a blush brush to apply a small amount of the purple shadow from the palette high on your cheekbones starting at the apples of your cheeks and blending up toward the outer corners of your eyes.

Lip Color

Apply a thin layer of lipstick straight from the tube and blend with your fingertips to distribute the pigment and create a subtle lip.

Tone Downed Lip

Bring down the lip color even more using a bit of foundation and a concealer brush.

Dark Eye + Light Lip

With barely there lipstick, defined eyelashes and a natural-looking flush, bold blue eye shadow has never been easier to pull off.

Dramatic Eye + Bold Lip

Pair a modern plum lip with classic winged liner to put a contemporary twist on the always popular old Hollywood glam look.

Prep Skin

Apply foundation to even out your skin tone and conceal any blemishes.

Shimmery Shadow

Use an eye shadow brush to apply glittery gold shadow on the entire lid.

Mascara

Apply a coat of mascara to just your upper lashes.

Subtle Cheeks

Lightly apply purple shadow to your cheeks with blush brush. With such dramatic eyes and lips, you just want to add a hint of color to the apples of your cheeks.

Winged Liner

Winged liner is arguably the trickiest makeup skill to master, so we created a step-by-step guide to break it down.

Dramatic Eye + Bold Lip

Finish the look with a deep plum lip for a pigmented pout that's fit for any seasonal soirée.

Plum Color Wash

Layers of purple and gold complement each other to create this monochromatic look.

Prep Skin

Apply your foundation and concealer as you normally would.

Purple Shadow

Use an eye shadow brush to apply purple shadow from the palette to your upper lids. Keep the shadow darkest at your lash line and blend into your crease. Using an angled brush, apply purple shadow along your lower lash line, starting from the outer corners of your eyes and working your way inward. To add dimension, apply gold eye shadow from the palette to the inner corners of your eyes.

Mascara

Apply two coats of mascara to your upper lashes and one light coat to your lower lashes.

Lipstick Cheek Stain

For this look, White used the plum lipstick to create a cheek stain. Layer a few coats of lipstick on the back of your hand and use your fingertips to blend the lipstick along your cheekbones. You can also blend a small amount of foundation into the lipstick before applying the stain to your cheeks to create a creamier effect.

Lips

Swipe on one coat of lipstick and use your fingers to blend. You can tone down the color further using foundation and a concealer brush, if desired.

Plum Color Wash

The subtlety of this look makes it ideal for a laid-back office holiday party or even dinner with the family.

Light Eye + Light Lip + Luminous Skin

Not all party-ready looks require heavy makeup. All you need are four products to create this natural yet festive look.

Prep Skin

Evenly apply foundation to cover up any problem areas and even out your skin tone.

Light Eye

With an eye shadow brush, apply gold shadow all over your lids. Start at your lash line and blend up toward your brow bone.

Mascara

Two coats of mascara on your upper lashes and one coat on your lower lashes creates the illusion of larger eyes.

Blush + Highlight

Use a blush brush to apply purple shadow along your cheekbones. Then, using a fan-shaped highlighting brush, highlight your cheekbones by applying gold shadow along the tops of your cheekbones above the blush.

Light Lip

Lightly swipe the lipstick along your lips and use your fingers to blend and lighten the color.

Light Eye + Light Lip + Luminous Skin

Glittery eyes, highlighted cheeks and lilac lips complete this pretty look.
